The 2-day Brews&Spirits Expo, 2022 (6-7 July, at the Manpho Convention Centre, Bengaluru), brought together technology providers, equipment manufacturers, brand owners and raw material suppliers.
Also in attendance in large numbers were brewers, winemakers, distillers, distributors and retailers of alcobev; food and beverage experts from the hotel, restaurant and entertainment sector; as well as connoisseurs of spirits and wine.
Organised by PDA Ventures, the concurrent day-long Conference, titled ‘Grain to Glass 3.0: Innovation for Disruption’, had experts and industry stalwarts discussing current trends and other relevant topics related to the alcobev sector.
A technical Workshop by VLB Berlin on ‘Sensory Training and Beer Styles’ and curated master classes conducted by senior professionals and brands such as Sonal Holland Wine Academy, Maka Zai Rum, Karnataka Wine Board, Estuary Waters, Fermentis, Ellerslie Australia, Craft Brewers Association of India and Diageo were well received by the alcobev community.
The concurrent IFBA Flair Challenge had participation from talented bartenders and mixologists from all over India. Among the jury was Shatbhi Basu, Founder of Stir bartending Academy; Rohan Carvalho, President of the Indian Flair Bartenders Association; Sachin Gowda, Co-founder of Flairology Bar School; and Varun Sudhakar, Founder of Bar Bundle.
Brews&Spirits Expo 2022 was supported by the Karnataka Brewers and Distilleries Association, the Confederation of Indian Alcoholic Beverage Companies, the Craft Brewers Association of India, Wine & Spirits Club of India, Grape Growers Association of India, the National Restaurant Association of India, UP Distillers’ Association, Fragrances & Flavours Association of India, Indian Flair Bartenders Association, Karnataka Wine Board, and Apex Wine Club India.
Among the partners were Euromonitor International (knowledge), Tulleeho (conference) and VLB Berlin (workshop). Other partners included Fermentis, Hypro, Geist and various other companies and brands as master class partners.
The conference had special keynote speeches, insightful panel discussions, special addresses and technology presentations by senior bureaucrats, industry leaders, academics and other subject matter experts.
Brews&Spirits magazine, published by PDA Trade Media, was the official media partner for the event. This synergy played a catalysing role in the success of the expo.
The trade fair and conference provided the platform for the alcobev community to come together and to witness first-hand new innovations, products, services and technologies that are taking place in the industry.
