Brews&Spirits Expo 2023 (13-14 September, at the Manpho Convention Centre, Bengaluru) brought together technology providers, equipment manufacturers, brand owners and raw material suppliers. The event was also attended by digital influencers, raw materials suppliers, brewers, winemakers, distillers, distributors and retailers of alcobev; food and beverage experts from the hotel, restaurant and entertainment sector; as well as connoisseurs of spirits and wine.
Mr. Sukhinder Singh, Founder & CEO of the London-based The Whisky Exchange, delivered the keynote address. Mr. A.D. Singh, Founder & MD of Olive Group of Restaurants, delivered the special address.
Organised by PDA Ventures, the concurrent day-long conference on ‘Grain to Glass 4.0: Disruptive Innovation and the shape of things to come’ had experts and industry stalwarts discussing current trends and other relevant topics related to the alcobev sector.
A technical workshop was conducted by VLB Berlin on ‘Process Control within a Brewery’. Curated master classes conducted by senior professionals and brands included those by Mr Robert Piggot, Global Technical Director of Lallemand Biofuels & Distilled Spirits; Mr Charlie McCarthy, Business Development Manager with the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET); Mr Gaurav Thapar, Wine Ambassador for Karnataka Grape & Wine Board and others.
Another highlight was the Indian Flair Bartenders’ Association’s Mixology Challenge with participation from talented bartenders and mixologists from all over India. The competition was judged by jury members Mr. Varun Sudhakar and Mr. Sandeep Verma.
The 3-day trade fair and conference was supported by the All-India Distillers’ Association, All-India Wine Producers’ Association, Apex Wine Club of India, Bartenders’ Guild, Confederation of Indian Alcoholic Beverage Companies, Craft Brewers, The Distillers Association of Maharashtra, The Ethanol Manufacturers’ Association, Fragrances & Flavours, Gin Explorers’ Club, Grape Growers Federation of India, Indian Flair Bartenders Association, International Spirits and Wines Association of India, Karnataka Grape and Wine Board, Single Malt Amateur Club, UP Distillers’ Association, and the Wine and Spirits Club of India.
The expo has value-adding partners such as VLB Berlin (workshop), Euromonitor
International (market research), Hypro Industries, Lallemand Biofuels & Distilled Spirits, WSET (education), Geist Brewing Co. and various other companies and brands.
Brews&Spirits magazine, published by PDA Ventures, was the official media partner for the event and this synergy played the role of catalyst in the success of the Expo.
Overall, the trade fair and conference provided a platform for the alcobev community to come together and to witness first-hand new innovations, products, services and technologies that are taking place in the industry.
The next 3-day show is scheduled in Bengaluru from 4th September, 2024.
