To celebrate World Gin Day, Beam Suntory brings a collection of fine Roku Gin cocktails, to be savoured at leisure. Roku is a flavourful masterpiece crafted by Japanese artisans to artfully balance trademark Japanese aromas and flavours to create a perfectly balanced, multi-layered gin.
The unique blend of six unique Japanese botanicals includes Sakura flower (Yae-sakura) and Sakuna leaf (Oshima-sakura), which add the floral hints; Sencha tea and Gyokoru tea, for the full-bodied aroma; Sansho pepper (Bu-do Sansho) for the spicy notes, and Yuzu peel for the sweet citrus fruitiness.
Roku Tonic
INGREDIENTS
- Roku gin: 30ml
- Tonic: 120ml
DIRECTIONS:
Add all ingredients and build before serving over cubed ice in a highball glass. Garnish with ginger slices.
Roku Sonic
INGREDIENTS
- Roku gin: 30ml
- Tonic water: 60ml
- Soda water: 60ml
DIRECTIONS:
Add ice to a highball glass and stir to chill glass. Add Roku gin and stir to chill. Top with tonic and garnish with a lime slice.
Roku Sour
INGREDIENTS
- Roku gin: 60ml
- Matcha tea: 10ml
- Egg white: one
DIRECTIONS:
Add egg whites to the shaker and shake to aerate. Add Roku gin and Matcha tea and shake. Strain into a chilled Martini glass and garnish with a Yuzu wheel.
Roku Negroni
INGREDIENTS
- Roku gin: 30 ml
- Umeshu: 15ml
- Campari: 15ml
DIRECTIONS:
Add all ingredients and build before serving over a large cube of ice in an Old Fashioned glass. Garnish with orange zest.
