OreGin, India’s only gin crafted from the native citrus kinnow fruit of Punjab, has found spaces on the shelves of liquor stores in Goa and Haryana with its release by the Punjab Agri Export Corporation.
Working closely with master distiller Regan Henriques of Rhea Distilleries in Goa, OreGin is distilled in copper vessels using a handcrafted process that celebrates the best of old-world techniques. It is an artisanal gin that is close to nature, crafted without haste, without automation, and with a dedication to the finest of details.
The gin balances the delicate citrusy flavour of kinnow juice concentrate and peel with hints of fresh coriander and juniper, resulting in a gin that dances between zest and depth. Sipped neat or with a touch of water, OreGin leaves a lingering sense of richness and refinement, without the need for mixers or sugary additives.
Punjab Agro, a government undertaking, is utilising smaller kinnows unsuitable for the table to also created a sustainable pathway to support Punjab’s farmers. OreGin comes in 750-ml bottles at 40% ABV. For more information visit: www.oregin.in.
