Spot-on symbolism, cues on styles

Award-winning Indian mixologist Arijit Bose, and ‘Mr Diaquiri’, David Cordoba, came together recently to create a new brand that breaks the code of ethics, but works within the category guidelines.

Lovers Rum consists of modern elements fused with art and design, and comes in a diverse array of blended and single rums, single estate, cask strength and natural artisanal liquids.

The blend combines styles of five very distinctive Latin American and Caribbean rums. While one brings a complex palate of peppery notes, dryness and delicate tannins, another has roasted walnut, banana, black pepper and tobacco.

A third blend provides all spice, cacao, banana, root beer, while yet another has cashew, cinnamon and vanilla bean. All rums are distilled and bottled in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

The Lovers Rum unique bottle feature displays a tarot card label that is instantly recognisable, allowing you to spot the brand instantly. The tarot card design displays a myriad of layered symbols that directly connect the characteristics and flavour profile of this rum.

Behind the bottle, through the glass, The Lovers label is visible, giving it a mirage effect. The label’s story is one of adventure, exploration and fantasy, full of hidden messages. As each new rum in this series is released, a unique tarot card label on the bottle will tell the story of the rum inside.

Lovers Rum (43% ABV) retails for Rs 8,300 for a 700-ml pack in Goa, and will be introduced across India shortly. The rum already sells in the Czech Repulic, Russia, Singapore, France, Germany, the UK, Cyprus, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand and Hong Kong.
