Crazy Cock jumps on single malt bandwagon

South Seas Distilleries and Breweries, a legacy alcobev company, recently launched ‘Crazy Cock’, its first direct-to-retail whiskey brand, and single malts at that! Crazy Cock stands out as an exceptional single malt whiskey crafted from six-row Indian barley, which undergoes malting and distillation using the traditional method in copper pots.

The whiskey is matured in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, for a full-bodied, complex flavour. Crazy Cock single malt whiskey is available in two expressions. The Rare (aged in double oak casks) has a deep amber colour, and features floral notes intertwined with honey, pears, chocolate, raisin, cinnamon, spices, vanilla, and oak.

On the palate the Crazy Cock Rare is robust and its warm, spicy notes harmonise with a bouquet of summer fruits, raisins, and a smooth texture. The finish lingers, inviting a celebration of this extraordinary creation.

Crazy Cock Dhua (smoke) is the peated single malt aged in imported bourbon and rare sherry casks. It has a deep antique gold colour, with warm notes of raisin, dark chocolate, spicy cinnamon, vanilla and mandarin on the nose.

The palate delights in smoke-laced spice, raisins and a touch of cinnamon, with top notes of balanced sweetness, culminating in a warm and lingering finish.

The Indian single malt whiskies come in 750-ml bottles at 42.8% ABV and are available in Mumbai, Goa and Haryana. They retail in Mumbai for ?8,900 (Rare) and ?12,500 (Dhua).
