Mumbai-based Craft AlcoBev, which has spent close to a decade perfecting the intoxicating art of designing the first Indian-origin brands, has launched Paapi coffee absinthe. Made from La Ananta absinthe, India’s first locally produced absinthe, Paapi combines the richness of dark espresso with the herbaceous, spicy
notes of absinthe, creating a drink that is both invigorating and enigmatic.
Paapi coffee absinthe contains extra-neutral alcohol, sucrose, natural absinthe
flavour, coffee extract, caramel, permitted natural colour and demineralised water. Packaged in 750-ml bottles at 49% ABV, it is currently available in Goa (₹2,950) and Maharashtra (₹3,450). Plans are afoot to expand its footprint in Karnataka, Delhi, Haryana and Assam.
On the nose (neat), Paapi has slight hints of coffee, vanilla, butterscotch, anise and fennel. After louching, coffee, vanilla and butterscotch continue on the nose. In addition, there are hints of fresh berries and spices. For more information, write to hello@craftalcobev.com.
