Stranger & Sons gin from Goa’s craft distillery is always looking for exciting ways to help keep the spirits up, especially in these times, when the hospitality industry remains among the ones highly affected by the social and business restrictions necessitated by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Working alongside some of Asia’s best bars and supporting the community in its own small way during the lockdown, the brand launched ‘Strange Times’ a collection of pre-batched crafted cocktails.
These have been made in collaboration with some of Singapore’s top bars, such as The Old Man, Native, 28 Hong Kong Street, Tippling Club and Neon Pigeon.
Encouraging the bar teams to get creative, incentivising them with stock support, exclusive packaging, marketing, promotional videos and social media content – along with extending financial support for every cocktail sold – truly showcases the brand’s intent and resolve to work with the industry.
The collection was an instant crowd favourite, and an initiative that will be coming to the domestic market as well. Check out the cocktails prepared by each of the bars.
An ode to India’s spices, Stranger & Sons gin is the debut spirit from Third Eye Distillery, an independent distillery planted in Ponda, Goa. The recipe details nine “rather peculiar” botanicals, the majority of which are sourced from spice farms along the Malabar and Konkan Coast in India.
‘Stranger’ in the name is a nod to this wonderful Indian strangeness and the ‘& Sons’ is a common suffix of traditional Indian family-owned businesses. Launched by three family members, Stranger & Sons is a tribute to these inherited businesses and the entrepreneurial spirit inherent in most Indians.
