Two rosés from Abruzzo, Italy

The Fantini Group, ‘Best Producer in Italy’ in 2017 and 2020 (Mundus Vini Wine awards) has introduced two of its finest rosés from the Abruzzo region of Italy: the Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo and Calalenta.

Imported and distributed by Mumbai-based Monika Enterprises, both wines are one of a kind, being the only Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo in the Indian market and the Calalenta the only Italian made Merlot rosé in the country.

With a truly short skin contact, Cerasuolo is made purely from Montepulciano d’Abruzzo grapes and still wears the pale cherry red colour. Its freshness and round structure are accompanied by a bouquet of berry scents. It pairs well with Asian and Italian cuisine.

The other ‘Provence style’ rosé is made from grapes hand-picked at night (Calalenta). It has refreshing acidity with aromas of strawberry, fresh watermelons and rose petals, and a long and intense finish. The Calalenta is perfect for vegetarian dishes, raw fish and Japanese cuisine.
