To commemorate International Women's Day, 7Rivers Brewing at The Taj, M.G. Road, Bengaluru, brought together five leading women brewers from the city to create India’s first all-women brewed beer. The limited-edition Double IPA will be available from April 2021.

7Rivers Brewing is the first micro-brewery born out of an industry-first partnership between the world’s leading brewer, Anheuser Busch InBev, and Indian Hotels Company Ltd.

The event was hosted by Lynette Pires, Lead Brewer at 7Rivers Brewing; along with Vidya Kubher, Head Brewer at Geist; Varsha Bhat, Brewer at Manheim; Amruta Biranje, Head Brewer at Byg Brewski; and Aishwarya Ritti, Former Head Brewer at Brahma Brew Works.

The all-women team also participated in the Pink Boots Society’s (PBS) International Collaboration Brew Day, celebrated globally on International Women’s Day, dedicated to uplifting women’s role in the beer industry.

For the limited-edition Double IPA, 7Rivers Brewing collaborated with Yakima Chief Hops (YCH), a 100% grower-owned global supplier of premium quality hops, and BrewNation, one of India’s craft industry’s best raw material suppliers.

The beer was produced using a proprietary blend produced by YCH along with PBS, a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting and celebrating women in brewing.

To make a significant impact, YCH will contribute a percentage of the sales proceeds from the blend to an annual PBS scholarship fund, which empowers women beer professionals with educational seminars, classes, certifications and tours.

This momentous collaboration aims to inspire and encourage women to make their mark in a largely male-dominated industry and advance their careers in the craft beer space, which is growing manifold.

This is one of the many initiatives undertaken by 7Rivers Brewing, which is committed to developing the craft beer industry and creating an environment for women brewers to be part of this growth.
