O Pedro, the Goa-theme getaway known for its fabulous cocktails, has the happiness dial up a few notches with its third concept drinks menu, ‘Happy Go Rocky’, at its outlet in Bandra-Kurla Complex, Mumbai.
It features Rocky the Rooster, a happy-go-lucky bird with ridiculously impressive tail feathers known for his boozy misadventures. Rocky takes customers on a trip to his larger-than-life fantasy world, from morning till midnight, showing them a thing (or eight) about happiness.
Happyland is a good way to start a customers’ day on the right note with Diddly Doo with freshly squeezed OJ, malt and beer syrup, whiskey and Amaro Abano.
Customers can take a plunge into a crystal blue pool and just be a Lazy Daisy, a heady mix of spiced pineapple rum with in-house coconut rum and a dash of Fino sherry.
So that customers don’t let the day slide by, O Pedro has the Last Cucumber, a refreshing concoction of vodka, honey pepper syrup, in-house dill wine and cucumber pickle brine.
They can take a tumble in Rocky’s walk-in wardrobe before doing the Ziggy Zag, made with caper vodka, dry vermouth and Martini Bianco.
In O Pedro’s new menu customers can meet walking eggs, stroll through a museum spotlighting cocktails (and a snoozing cat), and even catch a glimpse of Rocky cycling through the night sky. All this is packed into a design that might raise eyebrows but is sure to make customers grin with its hints of easy-breezy absurdity.
To kick off the evening, O Pedro has Ready Steady, a sweet and spicy rum-based, clarified milk punch that’s all about fruity vibes. Made with chikoo, Indian spice mix, green tea, and topped with a velvety chikoo foam, this one’s a smooth sipper with a heady finish.
Diddly Doo is a tangy, bitter-sweet twist on the classic Garibaldi cocktail. This version comes with whiskey and fresh orange juice, with a kick of malt and beer syrup made from beer waste. Some sweet sustainability at work!
And then there’s Marga Lisa, a tropical sour and spicy masterpiece and a twist on the classic Margarita. This one comes packed with a spicy kick from jalapeno and habanero, strawberries for a burst of tangy deliciousness, and a touch of hibiscus and coriander for a refreshing finish.
The Blue Pea Night is a bold twist on a classic gin cocktail. This Oaxacan Negroni version has gin, dry vermouth, blue pea-infused white bitters, and the star of the show, Mezcal, for a burst of earthy goodness.
Nightwing is a modern classic twist on the popular Manhattan: Japanese whiskey with a hint of spice, Japanese plum liqueur for sweetness, Amaro Montenegro and Angostura bitters to blend it all seamlessly together. Topped with a maraschino cherry, it is potent, boozy and downright delicious!
O Pedro is among a family of restaurants owned by Hunger Inc., co-founded by Sameer Seth, Yash Bhanage, Floyd Cardoz and Thomas Zacharias. The other Mumbai restaurants are The Bombay Canteen, Bombay Sweet Shop and Veronica’s.
