Amrut Distilleries, which has curated many iconic single malt whiskies such as Fusion, Portonova and Amalgam, has added yet another feather to its crown. Its Little Greedy Angels Chairman’s Reserve is Amrut’s first peated single malt.
On the nose, it has a train journey of Demerara sugar, burnt coffee and vanilla-cream custard. The bourbon barrels used for maturation shine through. The tropical fruits palpable on the palate include salted caramel, honey and syrup.
The texture of the whiskey on the mid-palate is silky, with a note of mild citrus and banana. Due to the length of tropical maturation, the phenols are soft and mesmerising. It finishes with refreshing notes of banana and peat.
Packaged at 50% ABV in 700-ml bottles, this is a limited edition release worldwide and is priced at Rs 23,999 in India.
