Bombay nostalgia captured in a bottle

Bombay nostalgia captured in a bottle

If you want the nostalgia-inspired flavour of Bombay in an all-new and unexpected avatar, Perry Road Peru has already made its way to your city. A delightfully strange and seasonal collaboration between Stranger & Sons and The Bombay Canteen, Perry Road Peru is the first single-batch, limited edition distilled cocktail in India.

Inspired by the humble and highly seasonal, pink perus (guavas) that line the streets of Mumbai twice a year, they found the perfect muse to capture the city’s spirit. Fresh, balanced and luscious, it lingers on the palate long enough to take you back to the past and leaves you wanting more.

This cocktail is the perfect union of the potent peru and the nine Indian botanicals in Stranger & Sons gin. Handpicked and peeled at their peak, ripe perus are slowly macerated for 6 hours and then distilled for another 18, till every drop is flush with freshness.

In typical Mumbai fashion, this seasonal distilled cocktail (30% ABV) comes with a generous pinch of chilli-salt mix. It can be enjoyed over ice in a rocks glass or topped up with tonic or soda in a highball, served with a spiced rim.

Perry Road Peru has been re-launched across the country in 750-ml bottles; but with limited runs in Mumbai and Pune (Rs 2,999), Bengaluru (Rs 3,500), Delhi, Rajasthan (Rs 4,000) and Goa (Rs 1,999).
