That the Indian market be better informed on how best to drink and enjoy single malts.

 

Who do you think sets drinking trends in India?

Since India has a large and young population, we find global trends being picked up and followed.

 

What according to you is the most overrated drinking fad/ drink in India at the moment?

I wouldn’t say anything is overrated as such, but we do see that there is a large interest in trends moving to gin from vodka, and blended whiskies to single malts.

 

What’s the next big thing for India?

An explosion of single malts.

 

What’s the best motivation for your team?

The greatest motivation for our team is the appreciation from consumers for the various offerings in our portfolio.

 

Which is your favourite liquor brand ad campaign?

The ‘Men Will Be Men’ campaign by Imperial Blue (whiskey).

 

Which is your favourite Bar in India and why?

I would say it would be the Atrium Bar & Lounge at Taj Land’s End in Mumbai. They have a great collection of single malts.

 

Which of your competitors gives you sleepless nights?

I wouldn’t want to mention names, but I am concerned about brands misrepresenting accolades and information to the consumer.

 

The one fictional character you’d like to have a drink with…

Probably Captain Haddock of Tintin.
