Saffron from Kashmir’s Pampore

Rockland Distilleries from Bari Brahmana, J&K, has launched the Union Territory’s first pot-distilled gin, infused with a total of 14 botanicals including a special mix of Kashmiri spices.

Its name is derived from the region in Kashmir called Pampore, which produces the finest quality saffron in the world and is also the most expensive spice. The saffron is delicately infused over time and then it is rested for 14 days to extract the maximum flavour.

Packaged in 750-ml bottles at 42.8% ABV, Pampore is priced at ?1,950 in J&K. It is expected to hit stores in Haryana and Chandigarh in mid-2024.
