Bar Spirit Forward, Bangalore celebrate being ranked #1 in 30BestBars 2025

AtIndia’s bar ecosystem reached a pivotal moment with the announcement of 30 Best Bars India 2025 rankings at Taj Cidade de Goa Heritage on Jan 12th 2026. Now in its sixth edition, the platform remains the country’s most authoritative benchmark for bar excellence, high-caliber hospitality, and mixology innovations. The event drew bar industry leaders, hospitality veterans, and cultural tastemakers from across the country.

Bangalore firmly stakes its claim at the top, with Bar Spirit Forward (#1) and Soka (#2) leading the charge. With six entries in the top 30 and four in the top 10, Bangalore has graduated from an emerging contender to a national trendsetter, setting the benchmark for premium bar experiences across the country.

Meanwhile, Goa shook up the rankings, with first-time entrants Bar Outrigger (#3) and Boilermaker (#4) vaulting straight into the top 5. For the first time in six editions, Delhi and Mumbai are absent from the top 4, signaling a significant realignment in India’s bar landscape. Delhi’s highest rank was achieved by Lair (#5), while Mumbai’s Americano secured the (#10) position in the rankings.

Kolkata’s Coming of Age

Kolkata emerged as one of the strongest growth stories of the 2025 rankings, recording its best performance to date with four bars in the top 30, including three new entrants – AM PM (#13), Nutcase Etc. (#15), Conversation Room (#26), and Little Bit Sober (#27). Previously seen as a fringe player in the national bar narrative, Kolkata is now establishing itself as a credible cluster with a distinct point of view and growing momentum

Legacy Meets Breakout: Shaping India’s Bar Landscape

Consistency continues to define stalwarts like Sidecar (#8 New Delhi), Comorin (#21, Gurgaon), and The Bombay Canteen (#29, Mumbai), each appearing in the top 30 across all six editions. Bar Spirit Forward (#1, Bangalore) continues to set the national standard for premium bars, while ZLB23, The Leela Palace (#7, Bangalore) dominates the hotel bar segment. Returning favorites like Hideaway (Goa), Cobbler & Crew (Pune), and HOME (New Delhi) reinforce the value of sustained excellence. Notably, 20 out of this year’s top 30 returned from 2024, while seven new entrants broke into the rankings, with three directly debuting in the top 10. This clearly highlights how India’s latest bar concepts are entering the market with confidence, clarity, and immediate competitive advantage.

On the shifting landscape of India’s bar scene, Radhakrishnan Nair, co-founder of 30BestBarsIndia, observed, “The center of gravity is clearly shifting away from traditional metros like Bombay and Delhi. This year, the top awards have gone to bars outside these cities for the first time, and it also shows that no position at the top is secure anymore.”

Highlighting the evolving role of bars in India’s hospitality landscape, Anchal Kaushal, Vice President of Customer Marketing at Diageo India, commented, “India’s bar culture is undergoing a powerful transformation. Bars today are cultural destinations, not just places to drink, as consumers increasingly seek craft, storytelling, and elevated experiences. The 30 Best Bars spotlight venues that are redefining expectations and setting new benchmarks for quality and creativity. At Diageo India, we are proud to support this evolution—partnering with the industry to elevate bar programs, nurture talent, and help shape world-class bar experiences across the country.”
