Angus Dundee India represents the Indian presence of Angus Dundee Distillers PLC, a respected Scotch whisky group headquartered in Scotland with over seven decades of global experience.
The parent company is known for producing and exporting fine Scotch whiskies in both bottled and bulk formats and owns two distinguished distilleries: Tomintoul in Speyside and Glencadam in the Eastern Highlands. Each distillery is celebrated for its distinctive single malt range, continuing Scotland’s tradition of meticulous craftsmanship and global appeal.
Today, it stands as the largest supplier of bulk Scotch whisky in the country, playing an essential role in the production and flavour consistency of several leading IMFL (Indian-made foreign liquor) labels.
Indian brands
Set up in 2012, Angus Dundee India was established to cater to the rising demand for bulk Scotch among IMFL brands. With an unwavering focus on quality, consistency, and reliability, it quickly became a preferred sourcing partner for bottlers across India.
Recognising the evolution of India’s whisky consumers and the growing appetite for premium blends, the company made a strategic transition from supply to brand creation.
In 2019, it introduced MacRoys blended Scotch whisky, a label designed to capture Indian preferences while retaining authentic Scotch character. The brand’s development drew on the group’s deep reserves of aged whiskies, blending mastery, and access to world-class casks.
MacRoys was initially launched in select pilot markets and, after a strong consumer response, expanded its footprint in early 2020. The range now features three distinct expressions.
The flagship MacRoys blended Scotch whisky is matured in first-fill bourbon casks, imparting smooth vanilla and oak tones. MacRoys extra peat brings a refined smokiness suited to Indian tastes, balancing peaty depth with approachability. MacRoys sherry cask finish stands apart as the only blended Scotch in India with a dedicated sherry cask finish.
Each variant reflects the brand’s focus on accessible quality and craftsmanship, with cask details and blending transparency forming the core of its communication.
GTR range
Beyond MacRoys, the company continues to expand its footprint in India’s premium spirits space. The Tomintoul single malt range, one of the group’s flagship collections, is now available at Delhi Duty-Free, Mumbai and Hyderabad, with plans for wider rollout across key metros.
Angus Dundee India’s strategy is clear: build enduring supply partnerships while nurturing consumer brands that reflect both its Scottish lineage and India’s evolving palate. With new markets on the horizon, the company is well positioned to grow alongside the country’s premium and mid-premium whisky segment.
The company is participating in the Brews&Spirits Expo scheduled from November 27-29, 2025, at the KTPO Convention Centre, Bengaluru.
