Glenfiddich, the world’s most awarded single malt whisky, has released its 21-YO expression in India, the only Glenfiddich single malt to undergo the unique finishing in Gran Reserva casks that once contained premium Caribbean rum, specially imported to The Glenfiddich Distillery.
The dark gold liquid is matured in a combination of American and European oak casks for 21 years and finished for 4 months in bourbon barrels seasoned with Glenfiddich’s own Caribbean rum.
It is intensely floral on the nose, with hints of banana, figs, rich toffee, new leather and oak. The taste is initially soft, then brisk, vibrant and drying, peppery, with a touch of smoke, oak, lime, ginger and spices.
The Glenfiddich 21-YO is encased in a deep orange presentation box with references to the warm and mellow depths of flavour. The richly coloured box has been enhanced with premium detailing, including gold foiling and a charcoal interior.
Packed in 750-ml bottles at 40% ABV, the new expression is available at all leading liquor stores. It is priced at Rs 29,755 in Delhi, Rs 27,000 in Haryana, Rs 21,000 in Karnataka and Rs 31,500 in Maharashtra.
