Dahanu-based South Seas Distilleries, one of the oldest malt whiskey distilleries in India, has created a ground-breaking, first-ever matured Mahura (Mahua) spirit under the brand Six Brothers 1922 Resurrection and Six Brothers Small Batch (original).
The six brothers, ancestors of the owners of South Seas Distilleries, first perfected Mahura distillation for the royal families in the early 20th century. The original nectar of the gods, Six Brothers represents India’s first luxury spirit made entirely from Mahura flowers, double-distilled in the country’s largest copper pot stills, a sophisticated approach for this heritage category.
The commemorative edition of the Six Brothers 1922 Resurrection, with only 102 bottles, honours the vision of the Chinoy family’s ancestors. The world’s oldest matured Mahura spirit has been aged in oak casks for decades. Each bottle is a tribute to a craft perfected across four generations of the family. Six Brothers 1922 Resurrection (bottled in 750 ml, 40% ABV) is priced at ?1,02,000.
Six Brothers Small Batch (Original) is double-distilled in copper pot stills and platinum-filtered to achieve a crisp, balanced texture. Presented in 750-ml bottles adorned with six pairs of eyes at the base, the spirit offers a sweet, earthy nose of dried fruits, a silky palate with savoury notes and a clean, spicy finish.
Six Brothers Small Batch (Original) is available in Maharashtra at ?2,492 in and will be released in Goa and Haryana.
