Two of Bengaluru’s award-winning brands, Amrut Distilleries and Geist Brewing Co., have brought whiskey and beer together for a limited-edition release: the Master Distiller’s Reserve, limited to just 224 bottles worldwide.
This Master Distiller’s Reserve is a single-cask, unfiltered single malt whiskey bottled in 700 ml at 46% ABV and finished in ex-stout barrels that once held Geist’s Imperial Stout. The result is a truly intriguing whiskey: offering rich chocolate, caramel and cocoa, intertwined with layers of honey, dried dates and gulkand (rose petals).
It will be available exclusively at select retail stores across Bengaluru, priced at ₹7,500. This is the result of a collaboration between Vidya Kubher, Brewmaster at Geist Brewing Co., and Ashok Chokalingam, Head Distiller at Amrut Distilleries.
The label and box design evoke the smooth texture and refined craftsmanship of Mysore silk, mirroring the character of the whiskey itself. The gold zari border features motifs rooted in the state’s history: Kempegowda’s tower, the Mysuru Dasara elephant and the Kodava Peeche Kathi (dagger).
