In a landmark moment for the Indian hospitality and spirits industry, Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield Hotel and Convention Center has announced a pioneering collaboration with Amrut Distillery. This partnership marks the launch of an exclusive single malt whiskey, Amrut Zarf, crafted specifically for Zarf, the hotel’s signature Indian fine-dining destination. This bespoke expression is not only an industry-first private label for a restaurant but also serves as Amrut’s momentous 50th single malt release.
Crafted, Curated, Celebrated: Zarf x Amrut in Perfect Harmony
The collaboration is a masterclass in alignment. Zarf’s culinary identity is built on reviving the forgotten flavors of India through a modern lens, a philosophy that mirrors Amrut’s own journey of elevating traditional Indian six-row barley into a world-class spirit. Amrut Zarf itself was matured over six years in refill virgin American oak casks, resulting in a profile that is both nostalgic and sophisticated.
Sanjay Gupta, Multi-Property General Manager at Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield, noted: “This collaboration with Amrut, a respected Indian family-run brand, reflects our strategic focus on innovation through one-of-a-kind partnerships where cuisine, craft, and culture come together to create experiences that are truly distinctive and destination-defining. Zarf continues to evolve as a space where Indian heritage is expressed in a modern, globally relevant way.”
A Milestone for Amrut
For Amrut, a brand that transformed global perceptions of Indian whiskey under the visionary leadership of the late Mr. Neelkanth Rao Jagdale, this 50th release, Amrut Zarf, is a deeply personal milestone. For Amrut, founded in 1948, this release is a tribute to the pioneering spirit of the late Mr. Neelkanth Rao Jagdale.
Mr. Rakshit N. Jagdale, Managing Director of Amrut Distillery, remarked: “Releasing our 50th single malt, Amrut Zarf, in collaboration with Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield and Zarf marks a truly meaningful milestone for us. I am especially pleased that, for our first private label in India, we have partnered with an esteemed institution like Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield for their bespoke restaurant, Zarf.”
A Symphony of Flavor and Fashion: Experiencing Amrut Zarf
Connoisseurs will find Amrut Zarf’s profile strikingly complex. It opens with a nose reminiscent of Complan and vanilla cream, complemented by notes of roasted coffee and chocolate chip muffins. On the palate, it transitions into a velvety middle ground of fruit marmalade and delicate floral tones, before a finish of passion fruit and cracked black pepper.
The launch event showcased this depth through a curated pairing menu. Dishes like Peshawari Namak Mandi Lamb Chops and the stone-cooked Dal-e-Zarf were designed to echo Amrut Zarf’s layered character. The evening’s narrative was further enriched by a fashion walk curated by Prasad Bidapa, featuring Hemant Trivedi’s designs, which drew visual inspiration from the liquid’s golden honey flow.
This collaboration does more than just stock a premium bottle; it reinforces the hotel’s position as a premier lifestyle destination and cements Amrut Zarf’s stature as India’s most awarded single malt, setting a sophisticated new benchmark for experimental luxury.
