Honouring the magnificent Indian celebrations, Louis XIII Cognac has introduced for the first time in India, the two largest and rarest crystal decanters of its iconic collection, Louis XIII Mathusalem, a 6-litre decanter, and the Louis XIII Jeroboam, a 3-litre decanter.
Louis XIII, from Maison Rémy Martin, has also announced the certification of its first two official retail partners in the sub-continent: Mansionz by Living Liquidz (Mumbai and Bengaluru) and Vaz Enterprises (Goa) – price on request.
Each of the 200 Louis XIII Jeroboam (3-litre) decanters released worldwide every year requires the skills of no less than 11 craftsmen. The final result is a work of art; which is mouth-blown and then cut, shaped, and painted by hand.
As a final touch, each decanter is individually numbered to keep a record of its rarity; the perfect heirloom to pass down through families and time! Only 50 Louis XIII Mathusalem (6-litre) decanters are produced each year, each hand made by a team of 20 master crystal artisans.
The exceptional decanters are presented in an opulent wooden trunk and accompanied with Christophe Pillet-designed glasses. The traditional pipette, known as a ‘Spear’ is accompanied with a display podium.
Since its origins in 1874, each generation of Cellar Master selects from the cellars the most precious eaux-de-vie for Louis XIII, which is an exquisite blend sourced from Grande Champagne, the first cru of the Cognac region.
Louis XIII features exceptional aromas evoking myrrh, honey, dried roses, plum, honeysuckle, cigar box, leather, figs and passion fruit.
