Macallan evenings enthral Mumbaiites

The Kyndal Group, a leading independent alcobev company and the exclusive distributor of The Macallan in India, has collaborated with The Dram Club and whisky guide Anand Chintamani to bring The Macallan closer to its fans in Mumbai.

As part of the series, The Macallan fans, whisky aficionados, select bartenders and representatives of the finest hotels and bars were invited for special Macallan evenings in Mumbai to experience some of the most popular and complex expressions: The Macallan Triple Cask Matured 15-YO, The Macallan Triple Cask Matured 12-YO, and The Macallan Sherry Oak Cask 12-YO.

The Macallan is one of the most celebrated single malt whiskies globally and tagged as a collector’s choice – a bottle of 60-YO Macallan fetched US$1.9 million in an auction in 2019.

Macallan’s focus on quality sets it apart from others. It is the only whisky brand which has its own Master of Wood, who sources 2,00,000-odd oak barrels from oak trees in the US and Spain.

Each of the three expressions showcased present a perfect marriage of three distinct cask types: European and American sherry seasoned oak casks and American ex-oak casks.

The evenings started with anecdotes around The Macallan history alongside stories attached with the making of each expression. Each of The Macallan single malt reveals the unrivalled commitment to the mastery of wood and spirit and is an expression of the brand’s enduring desire to go beyond ordinary, to seek out the extraordinary, and create peerless single malts.

Kyndal recently launched some prestigious expressions like The Macallan No.6 and The Macallan Reflexion. The Macallan matured 15-YO and 12-YO form part of the Triple Cask matured range; a series of single malt whiskies crafted in a bourbon triple cask combination of European and American sherry seasoned oak casks and American ex-Bourbon oak casks.

This complex combination of oak casks make both the expressions extraordinarily smooth and exude delicate character, full of citrus fruits, vanilla and fresh oak.

The Macallan Sherry Oak 12-YO is matured exclusively in hand-picked sherry seasoned oak casks from Jerez for richness and complexity. Once filled, the maturing spirit remains undisturbed and is brought together in this rich and complex whisky characterised by spice and dried fruit and a natural rich golden colour.
