Spice Route introduces India-made bitters

Goa-based Underdog Tipple Distillers has launched its collection of alcoholic bitters, made entirely from locally sourced ingredients. Spice Route bitters are looking to provide bars, restaurants and cocktail aficionados a local alternative to hitherto imported bitters.

Alcobev industry insiders Subham Gupta and Dushyant Tanwar are addressing the need for quality, affordable bitters in India. The use of imported alcoholic bitters increases the cost of a cocktail to the consumer and as a result most bars today prefer making their bitters in-house.

The list of ingredients for the two variants – Aromatic and Gondhoraj – mimics any ayurvedic store. Spice Route Gondhoraj is an ideal citrus bitter with the dominant flavours being cardamom and the “king of smell” gondhoraj lime.

Both the variants are available in Goa for Rs 999 each (200 ml at 42.8% ABV). For more details, write to spiceroutebitters@gmail.com.
